Ecofeminism and climate justice activism comes to MIT

A new offering has appeared in MIT’s spring course catalogue, courtesy of the same people who brought you specialized training on how to smash the patriarchy using erotic vomiting, new kinds of science based on feminist, queer, and indigenous methodologies, and philosophical inquiries on queer theory and biblical interpretation.

Yes, MIT’s Consortium for Graduate Studies in Gender, Culture, Women and Sexuality is at it again.

Would you like to learn how to throw soup at priceless paintings? Glue yourself to busy roadways so commuters can’t get to work and ambulances can’t get to hospitals? Scream like a banshee to stop oil company recruiters from hiring MIT graduates? Go on a sex strike until fossil fuels are banned? Conduct attention getting public protests? Then this course is for you!

Ecofeminism and Climate Justice Activism leverages the leading factors fueling the mental health crisis in young women. Learn how to embrace your victimhood so you can rechannel your imposter syndrome anxiety, rage, and existential angst into action.

This course will help you “achieve a radical political orientation grounded in solidarity.” Examine the rich history of ecofeminist theory and practice, its socio-political contexts, implications, and impact, and interrogate its interconnections through a number of shorter influential texts by renowned feminist climate activists.

Come save the world. Your destiny awaits!
