MIT’s post-election grieving workshop

Has the presidential election left you with a universal feeling of grief?  Are you ready to shave your head and take a vow of celibacy? Do you lament the loss of your power to cancel garbage deplorables with joy and impunity? Is the IDHR office no longer paying attention to your anonymous reports of preferred pronoun microaggressions?

Do not despair, fellow MIT community members! Hitler may soon be running the country, and electing a brilliant female president of color may have to wait for better days. But the MIT Human Resources Department has retained the services of Rahul Kay, M.P.H., M.B.A., to lead us in a post-election grieving workshop. This will help everyone on the right side of history cope with the end of democracy.

“Unprecedented conditions have caused tremendous stress and has disproportionately affected marginalized communities,” he writes. As an aspiring marginalized person, or as an ally of the marginalized, you owe it to yourself to pass through the five stages of grief that will help you make peace with reality.

You might not be able to register and attend this free virtual grieving webinar, scheduled for noon today on Zoom. But a fan of the Beaver forwarded a copy of the presentation, which you can review on your own. So pour yourself a cup of tea, curl up with your favorite stuffed animal, and learn from Experts™ featured by Harvard University and the World Bank how to renew your energy and commitment to building a better world.
