In a little noticed ballot initiative that pro-Hamas activists slipped into the spring semester MIT Undergraduate Association elections, a resolution passed condemning MIT for its complicity in furthering violence against the Palestinian people.

In addition to calling for an immediate ceasefire leaving Hamas in power and surviving hostages shackled in their tunnels, the resolution demands that MIT cut all ties with Israeli defense department research and development programs. It also insists that the administration rescind the suspension of the MIT chapter of the Coalition Against Apartheid (CAA), whose flagrant violations of the institute’s time, place, and manner restrictions on campus demonstrations created such a climate of fear that it triggered a congressional investigation.

The head of Hamas’s political bureau, billionaire Ismail Haniyeh, thanked MIT’s woke undergraduates for their support, issuing a blessing upon them from his luxury hideout in Qatar. “Allahu Akbar, Death to America, Death to Israel!”

In an uncharacteristic rebuke given her past support of Hamas fellow travelers, MIT’s chancellor Melissa Nobles told the UA to bugger off, indicating that the disciplining of students that violate MIT’s code of conduct will continue.

The cabal of woke humanities professors that comprise the editorial subcommittee of the MIT Faculty Newsletter – describing themselves as we “who study Critical Race Theory and Critical Feminist Theory” –  indignantly huffed that the suspended CAA members are all “students of color and predominantly female.”

Great job, DEI trainers. Identitarian essentialism with a heaping helping of intersectional solidarity is manufacturing more social justice warriors every day.
