Alarmed by the breakdown of the prevailing narrative triggered by the presidential debate, leaders of the MIT Media Lab called an emergency meeting of heads of the MIT Election Lab, Co-Creation Studio, Comparative Media Studies Program, and the Office of Sustainability to explore ways in which Democracy can be saved by convincing people that they should not trust what they see with their own eyes.
“It’s time to add a strong dose of The Science to the art of gaslighting,” explained the Experts™ who convinced America that the safe and effective Covid vaccine prevents infection and transmission, men can become women, the 2020 election was the most honest and secure in history, STEM is systemically racist, and global warming will destroy the planet if we don’t achieve Net Zero by 2050. “The stakes are too high to leave this powerful governing tool to amateurs.”
Funded by a joint grant from the Hewlett and Open Society Foundations, the new Center for Gaslighting Sciences will combine state-of-the-art generative AI with advanced multimedia storytelling techniques, weaving an alternate reality so compelling that millions of voters will flock to live there.
The key to successful gaslighting is making sure the narratives promoted by our ruling elites stay stitched together well enough that the unwashed masses enter a state of willful disbelief whenever confronted by undeniable proof that they’ve been fed a pile of malarkey.
It is also imperative to maintain a climate of fear so anyone who even thinks about voicing doubt will know that they will be socially ostracized. We are fortunate that MIT’s DEI programs have done just that, preparing our future leaders to Build a Better World™ in which they can utilize Gaslighting Sciences to keep Democracy strong!
