As the aging Davos and World Economic Forum poobahs of yesteryear shuffle off to their proper places in the dustbin of history, a new generation of canapé-eating, jet-setting global elites is rising to pick up the social engineering banner and carry it into space.
Say hello to the Karman Project, where every woke cause known to man is unified under the umbrella of space sector policy development, then extruded through a world-class story-telling machine to keep those canapés coming.
Karman’s stated mission is to “unite global decision-makers to drive urgent, collaborative action for a sustainable and peaceful future in space.” By doing so, they believe they can end poverty, eliminate hunger, assure good health and wellbeing, deliver a quality education to all, achieve gender equality, provide clean water and sanitation, enable affordable and clean energy, guarantee decent work and economic growth, reduce inequalities, propel climate action, protect life below water, protect life on land, and create peace, justice, and strong institutions for all mankind.
I bet you’re thinking the Beaver made this up. Nah. Check out the grand plan for yourself – https://www.karmanproject.org/impact/
MIT is proud to be an Impact Partner in this effort, celebrating the selection of its most recent Karman fellow, MIT Media Lab data-driven decarbonizer Minoo Rathnasabapathy. The success of this noble global collaboration is assured given the involvement of the European Investment Bank, His Majesty King Charles III, the German Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation, and the China Space Foundation.
Alas, Elon Musk, SpaceX, and Starlink were nowhere to be found. How sad to see these slacking tech bros fall behind the honored winners of the coveted 3G+ Diversity Award.
