Facing $200M budget shortfall, MIT turns to dance as a learning science

As the MIT Corporation ponders which programs to axe now that it can no longer feed at the federal “indirect cost” trough, it is important to keep priorities straight. Which is why the world’s leading STEM university has turned to dance.

Dance as a Learning Science is the brainchild of MIT’s Center for Art, Science & Technology, one of the many crossover programs launched to inject more humanities into STEM education. Because turning MIT into just another Ivy League school is the best way to break the stranglehold the math SAT holds on admissions, the biggest obstacle to smuggling in DEI admits.

Developed by Professor Jennifer Light, a graduate of the Professional Preparatory Program at Esh Circus Arts, this course is all about discovering the ancient wisdom of “embodied learning.” And hey, it’s a fun and easy way for serious engineering students to discharge their dang humanities requirements so they can get back to doing useful schoolwork.

“Defending the sinecures of the bloated and irrelevant cabal of humanities professors at MIT is the biggest challenge we face,” explained Dr. Furto Pecunia, the Second Assistant Dean of Innumerate Faculty. “Failure to do so could result in the tragic eradication of the last remaining reservoirs of the Woke Mind Virus.”
