Culture War Whiplash Hammers MIT

MIT Culture Shock

Who imagined that the revenge of the “deplorables” would drive the long march through the institutions into a ditch?

The leadership bewilderment at the world’s leading STEM university is laid out for all to see in an 1,800-word lamentation in The Tech, MIT’s student newspaper.

“We came so close to cementing a seat at the head table of technocratic elites destined to rule the post nation-state world,” lamented President Sally Kornbluth.

“We went all-in on climate change. We went all-in on LGBTQ gender madness. We went all-in on social justice activism. We condemned Islamophobia. We set up kangaroo courts to punish microaggressions. We pumped resources into the School of Humanities, Arts, and Socialist Scientism and let their radical professors take over our faculty committees. We hired dozens of Deans, Assistant Deans, and Deputy Deans to monitor compliance with our DEI diktats. We turned the Division of Student Life into a bloated therapeutic nanny.”

“How the heck are we going to pay for all this now that the thug from Queens and his rocket henchman stepped on our air hose?”

Half a dozen ad hoc committees were hastily launched to refocus MIT’s priorities. These include working on improved fracking technologies, developing gender detransition therapies, analyzing strategies for tariff maximization, researching vaccine safety, designing sustainable Mars habitats, and economically justifying military disengagement from NATO.

Surely this will pry open the DC money spigot.
